| | | | | | Excavations under the Cathedral Information Office | |
| The archaeological evidence documents that the Cathedral Information Office was erected over a site important for the history of the Church. The office sits on the walls of probably the first prayer and assembly room of the Trier Christian community, the oldest section of the Trier Bishop's Church from the 2nd half of the 3rd century. No other comparable evidence of Early Christian church structures exists north of the Alps, so that this excavation area can be considered another archaeological treasure for Trier. To protect the excavations, catwalks were built to conduct visitors on a pre-determined walk through the excavation area. Minimum age for tour: 14
