Please note: During the next pilgrimage (13th April to 13th May 2012) Sightseeing and guided tours are not possible. Instead of sightseesing of the cathedral groups can visit the excavations of the first assembly room of the Trier Christian Community from the 2nd half of the 3rd century. A new film on the Trier Cathedral (about 10 minutes) in English language will be shown without fees in the Cathedral Information Office.

Cathedral tours consist of al walking tour through the Cathedral and the Cathedral cloister. Emphasis is placed on the history of the structures and their artwork.

The Cathedral Information Office is the agent of the Cathedral guide. The group receives a written reservation confirmation which contains all essential information.

Following your tour, your group has the opportunity of viewing a 15-minute film in English (also German, Dutch and French) on the Cathedral (suitable for young people from age 14) in the media room of the Cathedral Information Office. The film represents an interesting addition to the tour and is included in the price of the Cathedral tour.

Notice for groups!
Since January 1, 2002, only tours commissioned by the Cathedral Information Office and conducted by authorized Cathedral guides following defined guidelines have been permitted in Trier Cathedral. Other group tours, those by art historians or travel companies as well, are no longer permitted.
